I graduated with a Bachelor of Jurisprudence and a Bachelor of Laws from Monash University in 1980. I was then admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria in 1981. I initially worked as a clerk in the Victorian Magistrates Courts and subsequently as a generalist lawyer for a government funded legal centre, where I gained experience in all areas of law, including wills, family, criminal, property, and commercial law.

 

In 1987, I moved to the Gold Coast and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland. Since moving to the Gold Coast, I have over time practised primarily in property law, commercial law and succession law. I have held positions as an Associate, Senior Associate and Consultant for several firms around the Gold Cost. I also operated my own legal practice for over ten years. However, in 2008 I decided to step back from running my own business and focus on my clients and my work as a solicitor. I first joined Paul Dent Lawyers in 2013, where I currently act as a consultant.

 

I have a passion for the law and for helping people. As a long-term resident of the Gold Coast, I believe it is essential to give back to my community. I do this by regularly volunteering at My Community Legal, Robina to help those in the community that need it most. I care about my clients and enjoy using the law to help people.

 

During my 35-plus years of practice, I have gained extensive experience in:

• The sale and purchase of residential and commercial land

• Property transactions, including the subdivision of land, off the plan contracts and preparation of easements and associated documents

• The purchase and sale of businesses, including franchise matters

• Commercial and retail leasing matters

• Providing general commercial advice and the preparation of a wide range of commercial agreements, including shareholder agreements, franchise agreements, distribution agreements, business succession agreements and other similar documents

• Finance matters, including preparation of loan documents

• The preparation of enduring powers of attorney and advanced health directives

• Drafting Wills and assisting in matters of probate and estate claims.
